MAXPOWER (Oct 2010) BE SURE FOR ONE THING: THIS AIN'T NO GAME

"Maxpower Magazine in Greece jumped all over the HPF Stage 3 M3 track prepped car. The article is written in Greek. Click the link to look at the pictures"

BIMMER (NOV 2010) EXCESSIVE FORCE

"With 817 rear-wheel horsepower, Robert Henning's HPF Stage 3 turbocharged E46 M3 represents overkill in its most absurd form imagineable... and it's amazing."

"As the gas pedal heads to the floor, the M3 takes on a demented level of acceleration that is sense-scrambling in its immediacy. As if by instinct, my right hand pulls the SMG paddle for an upshift before the engine has even revved past 6,000rpm, far short of redline. I haven't really let this thing rip yet, but OM*G! (I'll let you fill in the missing letter.)"

"It takes a few runs through the gears to become accustomed to the absolutely ferocious acceleration. It's so intense that a "fight or flight" instinct kicks in somewhere in my brain's limbic system. My right foot wants to lift, to make the car slow down as I'm forcefully pinned back in my seat, but another part of me wants to keep the throttle wide open."

"Blasts of acceleration become an exercise in compressing distance. Eye a half-mile opening in traffic, sink the gas pedal to the floor and haaaang on. "

"For critics who may be wondering why Bergemann has bagged his second PAS Magazine cover in 18 months, the answer is obvious; this completely new car is every bit as visually appealing as the last one, but with performance that would embarrass his previous wild creations."

"Nearly 40 man hours were spent stripping the chassis harness of all non-essential items. Even with the added weight of the cage, wing, widebody and turbo kit, the M3 weighed in at a scant 3127 lbs."

"Bergemann's M3 was tailored specifically for the track with their stage 3 turbo system that makes over 800rwhp when the button is pressed and 650rwhp when the button isn't pressed. The HPF magic button is right by the steering wheel and switches maps when the driver wants an additional 150rwhp on those long straights to pass everything and everyone."

BIMMER (Feb 2010) THE SOUND OF SPEED

"With 648 horsepower, Lawrence Henrard's turbocharged E46 M3 is obviously fast, but the real seduction is the glorious sound coming from it's engine bay"

"As the S54 six spins toward redline, the sound of the boost escaping from the blowoff valve punctuates every upshift. It's intoxicating, and so is this E46M3's acceleration. It's rocketing us down Monterey's Reservation Road as quickly as anything we've ever driven, making us glad for the rapid-fire shifting of SMG"

"The sounds from the engine bay are almost as distinctive aswhat comes out of the (rasp-free) Agency Power exhaust: Between the Horsepower Freaks Stage III-IV intake and the HKS blowoff valves, the car does a pretty good job of announcing the turbocharger thats boosting power to almost 650 horses at the rear wheels."

EUROTUNER (Nov 2009) CUTTING THE MUSTARD

"Turbocharged by HorsepowerFreaks, this BMW creates panic on the roads with 622hp at the rear wheels."

"Honestly, this car is too fast, he began. One of my best friends refuses to get in the car with me anymore. One day, I took him for a ride and scared the shit out of him. It's not that he didn't trust me as a driver, but didn't trust the car. He just had a daughter and wanted to see her that night!"

"At the end of the day, Tommy has it all power, handling, looks and respect. From 3700 to 8000rpm, there's almost nothing that can keep up with him on the road. The look on people's faces is priceless, he concluded. Especially after beating some of the exotic cars out there!"

EUROTUNER (Apr 2009) PURE ADRENALINE

"The KW Suspension felt solid and with so much grip, the steering feels razor sharp. At part-throttle, the engine felt almost stock. But give it some boost at around 3000rpm and the revs start to ramp up. After a couple of smooth low RPM pulls in 3rd gear, I finally got the nerve to keep my foot down. Come 5000 rpm, hell breaks loose with a VBOX registered 0.7G acceleration thrusting me into the seat (for reference, the same force as our 236whp project M3 in 1st gear). Everybody in the car stops breathing , and not a moment later I'm hitting the 8000rpm rev limiter at 100mph."

"Shifting into fourth gear, the pull is still phenomenal. I momentarily notice a flickering yellow light in front of me and think it's the check-engine light. Unbelievably, it's the traction control fighting to keep the 345mm-wide rubber from breaking loose! Exactly three seconds later we pass 130mph. In fourth gear, we still experienced more than 0.5G of acceleration (the same as Project M3 peaks in second). Yet today it's with three guys in the car, a full tank of fuel and at 4000 ft of elevation. Truly amazing."

"At the top of fourth gear, I nail the massive Brembo GT braking system. From 130mph we slow at -1.1G and come to a stop in just 7 sec. I slowly regain my senses. This car is unreal."

HEAVY HITTERS (Mar-Apr 2009) KNOWLEDGE IS RECESSION PROOF

"Knowledge is Recession Proof"

"We know what the Bugatti Veyron is capable of with it's capabilities clearly published on Wikipedia, so I believe we now have the power and the traction to come very close if not beat it in several categories. "

"After SEMA a lot of people didn't know what it was. They thought it was a new car from BMW and that was the kind of response we wanted."

"Everywhere I go in this car people are crowding around and asking me what kind of car it is"

EUROPEAN CAR (Oct 2009) HPF E46 M3 - THE HUNTED BECOMES THE HUNTER

"The first thing that caught my attention was how quickly the car starts, the utter absence of an extra-long crank time or double-start normally associated with 750cc injectors."

"After finding such a stretch, I brought the M3 to a near stop, then floored it. First gear disappeared instantly, then in second, at about 4,000 rpm, it was like I hit a patch of black ice. While I'm used to doing burnouts from a dead stop, I'm not used to them occuring at 65mph. The surge of power was immense and unexpected. Each increasing gear unleashed gobs of raw power that gave me a feeling that I can only describe as sublime terror."

"Often you're disappointed when you expect one thing and get another. This wasn't one of those times. This was one of life's rare moments when reality surpassed expectations. In this case, I'm glad I got to experience the unexpected."

EUROTUNER (Oct 2009) FREAK OF NATURE

"With over 800hp, This HorsepowerFreaks BMW M3 Turbo should be locked up in a cage"

"Fast is the new 450hp Nissan GT-R. Fast is the twin-turbo 530hp Porsche GT2. Fast is the 631hp Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 V12. But if you thought these cars were fast, then you havent witnessed the phenomenon bursting out of Portland, OR. HorsepowerFreaks (HPF) is building turbocharged E46 M3s to redefine the meaning of fast. With stage one M3s averaging 450whp and stage two 595whp, theyre becoming the most feared streetcars around."

"And this stage two Laguna Seca blue '04 M3 is no exception. It's been dyno-tested to 667whp with an estimated 813hp at the crank (factoring in 18% drivetrain loss). It's a menace to society, a super-villain of sports cars, a freak of nature."

PERFORMANCE BMW (Mar 2009) FREAK LIKE ME

"With more attitude than a class of 15-year-olds, bespoke purpose-built styling, reworked chassis and running gear, and a huge 1100bhp, US-based HorsepowerFreaks' latest creation also happens to be the world's most powerful E46 M3. Exquisite!"

"What's important about this build is Chris' eagerness to venture into uncharted territory, where the distinction between being a daily driver and a race car is completely blurred. This M3 makes in excess of 1100bhp that's not only silky smooth but also boasts cruise control and air conditioning"

"As well as generating downforce, the one-of-a-kind styling transformed this car to every red-blooded boy's pin-up of a supercar, and rather handily allowed Chris to exploit those extra inches for the rear tyres."

"HorsepowerFreaks is defying preconceived notions that high horsepower cars are difficult to drive, obnoxiously loud and only driven on race gas. They have kept one vital ingredient of gravity defying speeds; looks to die for. And it is thanks to cars like this that ensure I never get bored of this game!"

PERFORMANCE AUTO & SOUND (Feb 2009) WHITE HEAT

"Those that continue to innovate and spend money through these challenging times are coming out on top."

"HPF produces the highest horsepower around and they aren't about to give their competition any hints on how they did it. The competition will just have to spend time and money reverse engineering if they want to decode the mystery of 1100 usable ponies."

"The HPF engine management system features speed-based boost control, traction control with a controller inside cabin, methanol control and switched maps for pump gas, race fuel and methanol. The EMS also controls the oil scavenge pump, methanol activation and a safety methanol line pressure switch drops to low boost when outside of the safety range."

"HPF decided to roll with the Azuka Design carbon fiber body kit to achieve increased downforce at high speeds, reduce weight and accommodate outrageously sized rubber."

MODIFIED LUXURY & EXOTICS (Aug 2007) FREAKING FAST

"We chose to build this kit with a complete factory appearance. Most people who don't know the S54 engine have no idea that any work has been done tot he car."

"What is also amazing, is that this highly tuned BMW also sounds stock ... well, when it's sitting still anyway. When the car is being driven around there are no visual or audible sounds differentiating it from a stock M3 other than the slight turbo whir."

"When the pedal is slammed to the floor it feels and sounds more like a jet on takeoff than a four-stroke motorized vehicle."

"The complete package was designed to work seamlessly so there is no need for tuning."
